OVERLAND PARK -- Fort Scott Community College's men never trailed here Wednesday night as the Greyhounds went on to stun No. 18 Johnson County in a Jayhawk Conference-Division II contest.

Since the conference separated the Division II schools last season, Fort Scott is 8-2 in conference play. And in the three seasons the division has existed (2013-14, last season and the beginning of this one), Fort Scott has the best record of the five teams in conference games (13-3; Johnson County is next at 10-5).

Although the stat sheet on the Jayhawk Conference website said the Cavaliers never led, they did make a charge in the second half. Fort Scott led 42-31 at the half but Johnson County outscored the 'Hounds by 8 points in the second half.

Four players scored in double figures for the 'Hounds. Tyler Zinn led the way with 14 points followed by Anthony Cerda with 12, Dametrius Walker with 11 and Brolon Moton with 10.

Johnson County (0-1, 13-5) had only one player score more than 9 points. That was Anthony Lupardus, who finished with 20.

Moton had a double-double as he also led the 'Hounds with 10 rebounds.

Fort Scott shot 43 percent from the field, making 26 of 61 field-goal attempts while holding Johnson County to 40 percent on 23 of 58.
