Middle schoolers sweep Roosevelt

COFFEYVILLE -- Fort Scott Middle School's volleyball teams won all four matches against Roosevelt Middle School here Monday.

The seventh-grade B team started things off with a 25-12, 25-11 sweep, improving to 5-0-1. Lindsey Newman served 6 aces for the Tigers.

The seventh-grade A team won in three sets, 25-23, 27-29, 16-14. Abby Altic served 9 aces while Dylan Hazelbaker and Harmony Shaw each served 5. The 7A's are now 5-2.

The eighth-grade B team improved to 4-1-1 with a 25-14, 25-21 sweep. The eighth-grade A team stands at 6-1 after a 25-26, 25-13, 15-7 win.

The A teams will be at home Saturday in a triangular with Pittsburg and Frontenac. Play begins at 9 a.m.

All four teams play Monday at Parsons.
