JV golfers play at home

Fort Scott High School was the host of a nine-hole junior varsity tournament on Monday at Woodland Hills Golf Course.

The Tigers had two teams entered while Pittsburg and Chanute each had one. No team scores were kept.

The best score was recorded by Chanute's Matt Devoe, who shot 46. Pittsburg's Matt Thompson was second with a 48.

Fort Scott had the next three places. Conner Miller was third with a 51, Kaleb Guilfoyle fourth with a 52 and Hunter Reeves fifth with a 55. Zane Claypool tied for seventh with his 57.

The four Tigers in the top 10 played on the "A" team along with Cade Gosewisch and Caleb Rhoades, both of whom shot 62.

Fort Scott "B" golfers were Jacob Zabieta, who shot 64, Aarron Emery, 67, Frank Miller, 70, and Brandon Beerbower, 75.

The JV team plays in the Labette County tournament at Parsons on Thursday.
