Eagles unable to hold early leads vs. Northeast
UNIONTOWN -- Uniontown's softball team held early leads in both games of a Three Rivers League doubleheader at George Warren Field here Monday. But in both cases, the Eagles were unable to hold on as Northeast took a 16-6, 16-9 sweep.
Uniontown (0-4 TRL, 1-5 overall) led game one 5-1 and game two 6-4 after one inning of play.
Taylor Cooper and Ane Dublang each had 2 hits for Uniontown in the opener.
Keely Goodridge ended up taking the loss although 6 errors behind her led to 12 of Northeast's runs being scored as unearned.
Shinn and Danielle Young had 2 hits each for the Eagles in the second game.
Uniontown will play at home Monday, facing Oswego in a TRL doubleheader. Play is scheduled to begin at 3:30 p.m.
