North Arkansas routs Greyhound men

HARRISON, Ark. -- Five players scored in double figures for North Arkansas here Saturday afternoon as the Pioneers ran past Fort Scott Community College's men, 103-65.

The Greyhounds (0-4) saw Damertious Walker and Zechariah Benbow combine to make 13 of 23 field-goal attempts. But the rest of the team made only 9 of 32 attempts and Fort Scott was outrebounded, 41-17. The Pioneers had 34 defensive rebounds.

North Arkansas (4-0) led 43-28 at the half. They were led by 19 points by Corbin Medley, who connected on 5 3-point shots in finishing with 19 points. Tyler Clanton went 8 of 10 from the floor in following up with 17 points. Jalen Olds, who was 7 of 10 from the floor, added 15 points. Otto Troutner, 6 of 8 from the floor, chipped in with 15. And Dustin Tims, who made 5 of 6 fielders, scored 12 points.

Walker led all scorers with 24 points, going 7 of 10 from the floor and 10 of 13 at the free-throw line. He also had 8 rebounds, nearly half of Fort Scott's total.

Olds' led North Arkansas with 10 boards, giving him a double-double. Jakob Neidig was credited with 13 for the Pioneers' 38 assists.

The Greyhounds play their home opener Wednesday night. The Southwestern College junior varsity will visit Arnold Arena for a game scheduled to tip off at 7:30 p.m. or about 20 minutes following the 5:30 contest between Fort Scott's women and the St. Mary University JV, whichever comes first.
