Harold Leon Lightwine

Harold Leon Lightwine, 76, passed away on Friday, Oct. 30, 2015 at Heritage Health Care in Chanute, Kan. Harold was born on Feb. 8, 1939 in Fort Scott, Kan., the son of Harold Lee and Maida Belle (Parker) Lightwine.

Harold married Lavella Lightwine, May 9, 1959, she passed away on June 19, 1989. He then married Evelyn Carder (Adams) Lightwine on Nov. 27, 1989 in Miami, Okla., who survives him.

Harold worked in the oil industry, transporting bulk crude oil for Enron Transportation. He was a member of the First Methodist church in Fort Scott, Kan. He was also a Mason, Shriner, member of the Elks, the Mirza Temple Oriental Band, the Fort Scott Scottish Rite, and the Meadowlark Sams Camping Club.

Harold was preceded in death by his father, Harold Lee, his mother, Maida Belle, his brother, Howard Lee Lightwine, Sister, Eula Irene Hays, and former spouse Lavella Lightwine.

He is survived by his wife, Evelyn Lightwine, daughters: Pamela Lightwine Hightower (Wayne) of Fort Scott, Kan., and Kelli Lightwine Collins (Robert Matlock) of Girard, Kan., a brother, Robert Lightwine (Esther) of Alba, Texas, step-sons: Randy Adams (Teri) of Louisburg, Kan., and Doug Adams (Staci) of Yates Center, Kan., and a step-daughter, Cindy Adams of Chanute, Kan., as well as 17 grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2015 at 11 a.m. at Countryside Funeral Home Johnson Chapel in Chanute, Kan. Inurnment will be at 2 p.m. at Evergreen Cemetery in Fort Scott, Kan.

Memorials may be given to Shriner's Hospitals for Children and may be left with or mailed to the funeral home at 101 N. Highland, Chanute, Kan.
