PLEASANTON -- Uniontown concluded Three Rivers League play with a 6-0 record after the Eagles routed Pleasanton, 52-6, in an Eight-Man I District 1 contest here Friday night.

The Eagles (4-0 District, 6-0 TRL, 8-0 overall) clinched the league title when they beat St. Paul two weeks ago and took control in the district when they downed Marias des Cygnes Valley last week. This win clinched the district championship and a first-round home playoff game.

As was the case with the majority of their games this season, this one did not go into the second half. Uniontown led 38-0 after the first quarter.

"Our varsity offense only ran eight plays and scored six times, so we really took control early," Uniontown head coach Chad Stroud said. "Our JV offense was playing in the first quarter, so our young kids got lots of valuable playing experience tonight."

The Eagles outgained the Blu-Jays (0-4, 1-5, 1-7) 351 yards to 15. Uniontown rushed 29 times for 251 yards. Pleasanton managed only 2 yards on 14 carries.

Quarterback Gavin Miller threw for 73 yards and one score, a 39-yard pass to Tommy Holes, who also had a rushing score. John Reed ran for two scores.

Hayden Miller had 63 yards rushing for the Eagles while Clay Robinson had 41. Miller, Josh Wisely and Gavin Fry each scored rushing TDs.

James Pearson led the defense with 8 tackles. Cale Coyan and Zach Schwalm each had a sack.

Pleasanton's only score came on a 77-yard fumble return against the junior varsity offense.

The Eagles will face Waverly at home Thursday night at 7 p.m. then host a playoff game against the District 2 runner-up the following Tuesday.
