Janie Sue Thompson

Janie Sue Thompson, age 68, a resident of Fort Scott, Kan., died Friday, July 10, 2015, at the Fort Scott Manor. She was born Oct. 26, 1946, in Coffeyville, Kan., the daughter of Harold Gelon Abildgaard and Beulah V. Woodall Abildgaard. She married Levi Thompson. They were later divorced. Janie had worked in customer service with the insurance industry.

Survivors include a son, Christopher Thompson and wife Hanna, of California and a daughter, Tambria Thompson, of Kansas City, Kan. Also surviving is her twin sister, Judith Parnell, of Fort Scott, seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers.

Janie was cremated and no services are planned at this time. Arrangements were under the direction of the Cheney Witt Chapel, 201 S. Main, Fort Scott. Words of remembrance may be submitted to the online guestbook at cheneywitt.com.
