'Hawks hand Eagles pair of shutout losses
MOUND CITY -- Jayhawk-Linn handed Uniontown a pair of 10-0 losses in a Three Rivers League doubleheader to cap the regular season here Tuesday.
The Eagles, who have lost 12 consecutive games and allowed at least 10 runs in 11 of them, finished regular-season play 1-9 in the TRL and 3-17 overall. They will host Yates Center, which is also 3-17, in the first round of Regional play Monday.
Uniontown had just 4 hits in the opener, one each by Jesse Kuns, J.P. Pearson, John Emmerson and Clay Robinson. In game two, Pearson, Broderick Glessner and Kolby Seested each had one hit.
Monday's game is one of two first-round games in the Yates Center Class 2-1A Regional Tournament along with another one at Pittsburg between Colgan and Marmaton Valley. The tournament moves to Yates Center for the semifinals and finals on Tuesday.
