Wanda L. Higgins

Wanda L. Higgins, 80, of Lee's Summit, Mo., passed away April 1, 2015 in Mesa, Ariz. Wanda was born on Feb. 2, 1935 in Bayard, Kan., the daughter of Jesse and Irma (Shoemaker) Riggs. Wanda married Ervin W. Higgins on Aug. 7, 1953. Wanda and Erv shared 61 wonderful years together. Wanda's life revolved around her family, and she devoted herself to her husband, children and grandchildren. Wanda is survived by her loving husband, Ervin W. Higgins; daughters, Terri Sievers (husband, John) and Tracy Halphin (husband, Rob); son, Steve Higgins (wife, Melissa); grandchildren, Meagan Halphin and Jordan Sievers; sister, Norma Cowan (husband, Bill); and sister-in-law, Janet Riggs. She is preceded in death by her parents, Jesse and Irma Riggs and brothers, Gerald "Shorty" Riggs and Harold "Bud" Riggs. Services for Wanda will be held at Langsford Funeral Home, 115 SW 3rd St, Lee's Summit, Mo., on Wednesday, April 8. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. followed by services at 11 a.m. Burial will be at 4:30 p.m. at Centerville Cemetery in Devon, Kan.
