Dorcas Elizabeth Adams, 90, of Fort Scott died Monday evening, March 23, 2015 at the Fort Scott Manor Nursing Home. She was born Nov. 16, 1924 in Fort Scott, Kan., the daughter of David and Nellie (Owen) Wilkerson. She married John H. Adams Sept. 17, 1952 in Fort Scott, Kan., and he preceded her in death Sept. 28, 1980.

Dorcas a member of the Shiloh Baptist Church, now known as United Missionary Baptist Church. She was a Chiefs fan and loved to watch NASCAR.

Survivors include her children, Hugh Wilkerson and wife Ramona of Mexico, Stanton Wilkerson of Las Vegas, Nev., John D. Adams, Claude Adams, both of Fort Scott, Danny Adams and wife Michelle of Spokane, Wash., Laurence Adams of Pittsburg, Kan., Aileen Adams Boyington of Kansas City, Kan., and Brian Adams of Buffalo, N.Y.; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband John, Dorcas was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Paula Sims, and Virginia Smith; three brothers, Wyatt, Skylar, and Dan Wilkerson; and a great-granddaughter, Amiyah McClenton.

Pastor George Proctor and Pastor David Lee will conduct funeral services at 11 a.m., Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at the United Missionary Baptist Church with a visitation beginning at 10 a.m. at the church, under the direction of the Konantz-Cheney Funeral Home. Burial will follow the services in the Oak Grove Cemetery. Contributions may be made to the United Missionary Baptist Church, and left in the care of the Konantz-Cheney Funeral Home, 15 W.
