Lloyd Leon Dent

Lloyd Leon Dent, age 72, a resident of Fort Scott, Kan., died Sunday, Nov. 30, 2014, at his home following a cancer illness. He was born March 26, 1942, at Newton, Kan., the son of Ula Allen Dent and Elta Walker Dent. Lloyd shoed horses and also enjoyed carpentry and working with cattle. He liked fishing and camping and especially riding motorcycles.
Survivors include his companion, June Bloomfield, of the home; two daughters, Rhonda James, of Pawnee, Okla., and Michelle Helm, of Parker, Colo.; June's children, Mike Bloomfield and Heather Ethridge and husband, Eric, all of Fort Scott; six grandchildren, Jason, Justin, Tim, Joe, William and Maya. Also surviving are two special nephews, James and Mike Antonio, both of Newton. He was preceded in death by his parents, six brothers and six sisters.
There was cremation. Private family burial will take place at the Walton Cemetery, Walton, Kan. Memorials are suggested to Mercy Hospice and may be left in care of the Cheney Witt Chapel, 201 S.
