Nevada takes 3 of 4 from FSMS

NEVADA -- Fort Scott Middle School's eighth-grade teams played here Thursday with the "A" team winning over Nevada while the "B" team lost. The eighth graders played at Nevada Middle School.

The "A" squad (2-1) doubled up Nevada, 30-15, as Madi Farmer scored 12 points and grabbed 6 rebounds. Abby Humble scored 6 points and led with 8 rebounds. Jocie Allen also scored 6 points.

Nevada won the "B" game, 17-6, dropping the Tigers to 0-3. Nevada did not have very many players, according to head coach Lynn Barr, so the game was played with a running clock throughout.

Tab Husberg had 4 points for the Tigers. Lexi Bryant had 3 rebounds.

The eighth-grade "B" team will take part in a tournament at Prairie View today. Both teams play Monday at Parsons.

The seventh-grade games were played at a different venue, the Nevada Community Center. The "A" team lost 51-4 and the "B" team lost 31-0.

The seventh-grade "A" team plays in a tournament today at Frontenac while the "B" team will also play at Prairie View. The seventh-grade teams also play Monday at Parsons.

All four teams also play Tuesday at Pittsburg.
