Kirt was born Jan. 29, 1945, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the son of William Paul and Jeanne Frances (Durfee) Duffy. Kirt has been a part of the Pittsburg community since the late 1960s. He was a Captain in the United States Air Force.
Kirt studied physics, psychology, and mathematics, and his true passions were music, photography, and the outdoors.
