Freshmen football drops Prairie View game, adds Paola Monday
Due to a lack of players, Prairie View was forced to cancel a freshmen football game against Fort Scott High School which was to be played October 9 at Prairie View.
This is the third time this season FSHS has lost a freshmen game. But it has been able to find a replacement opponent each time. This time, the replacement will be Paola in a game to be held there Monday at 4:30.
Parsons had let schools know that it wasn't going to be able to play freshmen games before the season started. Instead of playing at Parsons on Sept. 5, Fort Scott was able to schedule a home game with Joplin, which they won.
Coffeyville did not have very many freshmen come out for football and was forced to cancel a game which was to be held there Monday. Fort Scott was able to schedule a home game with Nevada's freshmen, which the Tigers lost, 26-18.
The junior varsity game with Prairie View was not affected by the cancellation of the freshmen game. The Tiger JV face the Buffalos at LaCygne at 5 p.m. Monday evening.
