Gary Lee Webster,
Gary Lee Webster, age 64, a resident of Fort Scott, Kan., died Friday, July 4, 2014, at the Fort Scott Mercy Hospital. He was born May 24, 1950, in Kansas City, Mo., the son of Calvin and Edna Webster. Gary was currently employed by Fort Scott Broadcasting and had worked in radio for over 40 years. During his career, he had the opportunity to interview numerous celebrities including Elton John, Alice Cooper and Anne Murray. He had a vast knowledge of music. Gary enjoyed baseball and was an avid Kansas City Royals fan.
Survivors include his four children, Brian Webster and wife, Mioko, Jacksonville, Ill., Gary Dean Webster and wife, Yulia, Sierra Vista, Ariz., Krisi Wilhelmi and husband Dustin, Lawrence, Kan., and Dustin Webster and wife, Kristen, Fayettville, Ark. Also surviving are four grandchildren, Kira, Sasha, Marina and Grace. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Rev. Paul Rooks will conduct funeral services at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 10 at the Cheney Witt Chapel. Burial will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery.
