Kathleen W. (Ford) Callen

Kathleen W. (Ford) Callen, 91, passed away Thursday, April 10, 2014. She was born June 5, 1922, in Copan, Okla., the daughter of Claude Ford and Mary (Perry) Ford Stoner. Her stepfather was Carl Stoner. Kay married D.R. "Bob" Callen in Miami, Okla. Since Bob was employed by SW Bell, they were transferred to many locations in Kansas. They retired in 1978 and moved to Lake Fort Scott, where they lived until 1998, when they moved back to Topeka. Kay was a fabulous homemaker and was known for her wonderful cooking, especially fudge and cinnamon rolls. She loved to paint and spend time with her family. She was a friend to all especially her extended family at Lexington Park.

Kay was preceded in death by her husband, Bob, in 1998, her sister, Loma, and her parents.

Leaving behind to cherish her memory are her children, Danny (Debbie) Callen, Diana (Dennis) Reed and Susan Callen. She was grandmother to Aaron (Chelsea) Reed, Meghan (Ray) Best, Katie Meiers and Kelli Meiers; great-grandmother to Ethan Best, Madison Best, Paisley Inglett and Tatum Reed.

Family will greet friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Kevin Brennan Family Funeral Home, 2801 SW Urish Road, Topeka, KS 66614. A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Lexington Park Independent Living, 1011 SW Cottonwood, Topeka, Kan. Burial will be private at Mt. Hope Cemetery.
