Ronnie Lee Sheehy

Ronnie Lee Sheehy, 71, of Athens, Texas, passed away on Jan. 27, 2014 in Palestine, Texas.

Ron was born in rural Vernon County, Mo., to Rex and Betty Sheehy on June 12, 1942. He went to high school in Richards, Mo., and graduated in 1959. He was a longtime employee of AT&T and was involved in the Elks Lodge 564 and the fraternal order of Eagles of Nevada, Mo. Ron was an avid outdoorsman enjoying hunting and fishing of all kinds. Ron is preceded in death by his wife Judy, father, Thomas Rex Sheehy and brother, Connie R. Sheehy. Ron is survived by his current wife Linda of the home, mother, Betty Sue Sheehy of Nevada, daughter, Jo Ermel of Uniontown, Kan., son, Dallas Masoner of Chanute, Kan., daughter, Valarie Jorgen, sons, Kevin and Scott. Nieces, Karen Lowery, Canon Country, Calif., Kris Renfro of Archie, Mo., and nephew, Kenney Sheehy of Independence, Mo. He had 11 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 22, 2014, at Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada with Rev. Bill Perky officiating. Family will receive friends from 9 to 10 a.m. prior to the service.

The family suggest memorial donations to The American Heart Association or the Elks Lodge BPOE 564 Charities in c/o Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada.

Ron Sheehy was big man with an even bigger heart and will be truly missed by us all.
