Mary Elizabeth Coulter
Mary Elizabeth Coulter, age 85, former resident of both Fort Scott and Mulberry, Kan., died Friday, March 14, 2014, at the Arma Care Center in Arma, Kan. She was born March 30, 1928, in Arcola, Mo., the daughter of Edgar William Lonnie Call and Allie B. Cooper Call. Mary married Clarence Earl Coulter on March 4, 1944, in Baxter Springs, Kan. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting and playing Bingo as well as spending time with her many children and grandchildren.
Survivors include her 12 children, Mary Elaine Wells and husband, Billy, Mulberry, Kan., Edward Earl Coulter and wife, Linda, Fort Scott, Kan., Linda Sue Ames and husband, Jim, Arcadia, Kan., Leroy Coulter and wife, Sandy, Mulberry, Kan., Wanda Jean Drake and husband, Ted, Mulberry, Kan., Randy Jay Coulter and wife, Brenda, Pittsburg, Kan., Michael Ray Coulter and wife, Virginia, Mulberry, Kan., Mildred Arlene Cooper and husband, Kelly, Mulberry, Kan., Ronnie Lee Coulter and wife, Becky, Fort Scott, Kan., Connie Bea Zumwalt and husband, Earl, Miami, Okla., Tressa Mae McClure and husband, Randy, Nashville, Mo., and Clessa Kay Hawkins of Fort Scott. Also surviving are over 200 grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two daughters, Uthema and Bonnie Coulter, two sisters, Mamie Tefferteller and Lucy Edwards; a son-in-law, Terry Hawkins; a granddaughter, Victoria and four grandsons, Franklin, Clarence, Henry and Leroy.
William James Schafer will conduct funeral services at 1 p.m.. Tuesday, March 18 at the Cheney Witt Chapel. Burial will follow in the Rosebank Cemetery at Mulberry, Kan. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at the Cheney Witt Chapel. Memorials are suggested to the Mary Coulter Memorial Fund and may be left in care of the Cheney Witt Chapel, 201 S.
