UNIONTOWN -- The Uniontown Junior High seventh-grade boys' basketball team defeated Crest, 34-31, in overtime here Thursday night. Eagles guard Noah Reynolds sank three clutch free throws in overtime, and finished with a game-high 14 points for Uniontown.

The Eagles eighth-grade boys defeated Crest, 23-20. Trailing 20-19 late in the fourth quarter, Uniontown's Ben George banked in two free throws to put the Eagles up for good. Tyler Cooper led Uniontown with 14 points.

"I thought we played hard, and we executed better than we did Monday night against Westphalia," Chad Hays, Uniontown boys' eighth-grade head coach said after the game. "We haven't had a lot of close games this year, so I thought we handled the pressure well. We took care of the ball there towards the end and we made some timely free throws."

The Uniontown eighth-grade girls' team fell to Crest, 31-18. Megan Smith led the Eagles in scoring with 8 points.

The Uniontown seventh-grade girls defeated Crest, 17-2. Only two quarters were played, due to an insufficient amount of players available for Crest. Harlee Tinsley led the way for the Eagles scoring 6 points, and point guard Joy Page tallied 5 points.

Uniontown's teams will host Pleasanton Monday night. These will be the final home games of the season.
