Greyhound men fall at NEO; Allen calls tonight

MIAMI, Okla. --Fort Scott Community College's basketball team fell to 0-3 on the season with an 85-71 loss to host Northeastern Oklahoma A&M here Saturday night.

Fort Scott lost despite shooting 51 percent from the floor, making 25 of 49 field-goal attempts, as NEO (3-1) shot 55 percent on 28 of 51.

The Greyhounds' only lead was 7-6 on C.J. Hall's layup with 14:44 remaining in the first half. The Golden Norsemen scored 25 of the next 34 points and went on to lead 44-28 at the half. Their largest lead was 23 points, 70-47, with 10:22 remaining in the contest.

Mabor Gabriel led Fort Scott with 23 points and 11 rebounds. He made 7 of 10 shots from the field and 9 of 12 free throws. Kevin House followed with 13 points while Hall and Prince Samuels each added 10.

The 'Hounds will play their first home game tonight as the back end of a doubleheader with the FSCC women. Allen will be the opponent for what is a non-conference doubleheader since the Jayhawk Conference realigned its divisions over the summer. The women's game tips off at 5:30 p.m. at Arnold Arena with the men to follow at about 7:30.
