Marion Anna Elisabeth Bordelon
Marion Anna Elisabeth Bordelon, age 59, a resident of Fort Scott, died Thursday, Oct. 10, 2013, at her home. She was born June 18, 1954, in Darmstat, Germany, the daughter of Henry Schmidt and Elisabeth Grab. Marion moved to the United States at the age of twelve and received her United States citizenship. She had worked as an aide in various nursing homes and hospitals including the Medicalodge of Butler, Mo. She enjoyed collecting dolls and crocheting. She was a member of the Fort Scott Church of the Nazarene.
Survivors include her long-time companion, Carl Cook, of the home; three children, Angela Tackaberry of California, Paul Bordelon and Carl Benjamin Daniel Bordelon, both of Fort Scott; nine grandchildren, Benjamin, Brooklyn, Riley, Calob, Angelica, Cheyenne, Katarah, Paul and Katie. Also surviving are a brother, Ernest Schmidt, Amoret, Mo.; three sisters, Judith Wisdom and Donna Kenny, both of Amoret, Mo., and Helen Schmidt of Iowa; and numerous nieces and nephews.
There was cremation. A private family graveside will follow at a later date at the Benjamin Cemetery in Amoret, Mo. Services were under the direction of the Cheney Witt Chapel, 201 S. Main, Fort Scott. Words of remembrance may be submitted to the online guestbook at cheneywitt.com.
