Finding your way in Fort Scott

A new sign funded by the Phoenix committee was recently installed at Skubitz Plaza near the Fort Scott National Historic Site. The sign features a map of Fort Scott and marks points of interest, including schools, Mercy Hospital, parks, civic buildings and other landmarks. The posts the sign is mounted on were designed to match the street sign posts - also a Phoenix committee project - installed downtown in 2011. Committee member Jim Pitts said the committee chose to use some leftover funds to create "one main way finding sign" based on feedback the committee received from the community.
