Margaret Patricia "Pat" Moore
Former Fort Scott resident, Margaret Patricia "Pat" Moore, 86, presently of Kemah, Texas. died Sunday afternoon at the Emeritus Nursing Home in Sugarland, Texas. She was born Feb. 1, 1927 in St. Paul, Kan., the daughter of Lawrence Alva and Theresa H. (Scharfen) Thomas. She married Rex Moore, Jr. Nov. 30, 1949 in Fulton, Kan.. He preceded her in death Feb. 9, 1991.
Pat graduated from St. Francis High School in St. Paul and after moving to Fort Scott in 1944, she attended Mercy Hospital School of Nursing and became a registered nurse. She worked for Mercy Hospital for 34 years, until her retirement in 1978. Pat was a member of Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church.
Survivors include her children, Kevin Moore and his wife Pepper of Sugarland, Texas, Randy Moore and his wife Linda of New Caney, Texas, Danny Moore and his wife Sandra of Bakersfield, Calif.; a sister, Betty Richards of Ogden, Utah; and her grandchildren, Raven and Ivy Moore of Sugarland, Texas, Chad Moore and his wife Xuan of Dickinson, Texas, Kaitlin Moore of Monterey, Calif., and Kaleb Moore and his wife Anna of Los Angeles, Calif. In addition to her husband Rex, she was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Michael Thomas and Alva Thomas, a sister, Rosemary Rose, and a daughter, Margaret Susan "Peggy Sue" Moore.
Private family graveside services for Pat will be 1:30 p.m. Friday, July 5, 2013 at the Fort Scott, National Cemetery under the direction of the Konantz-Cheney Funeral Home. Condolences may be emailed to expressions@konantz-cheney.com.
