Members of the Holmes Brigade, the 24th Missouri unit, and other area reenactors shoot their weapons during Saturday's firing demonstration. It was just one feature of the Civil War Encampment Weekend at the Fort Scott National Historic Site on Saturday and Sunday.
The reenactors also demonstrated marching drills and held a flag raising ceremony.
Other reenactors were on hand to serve as wives, family members, and other personnel key to life at the fort.
