Margaret Catherine Hill Sullivan
Margaret Catherine Hill Sullivan, age 67, a resident of Ft. Scott, Kan., died Sunday, April 14, 2013, at the Mercy Health Center in Fort Scott, Kan. She was born March 18, 1946, in Pleasanton, Kan., the daughter of Willis and Florence Hughes Hill. Margaret was one of three children. She grew up in Pleasanton where she attended school. Margaret married Randy Sullivan on Dec. 3, 1982. To this union three daughters were born. Margaret worked as the head cook at the Residencies of Pleasanton until her retirement in 2008. Margaret was caring and loving and had a funny sense of humor. She enjoyed cooking, flower gardening, watching tv, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was a wonderful mother and was considered a queen by her husband's standards. Margaret leaves a legacy of precious memories.
Survivors include her husband, Randy, of the home; three daughters, Lucinda Sullivan, Ventura, Calif., Sara Sullivan, Pittsburg, Kan., and Michelle Sullivan, Ft. Scott, Kan.; four grandchildren, Brianna, Ashlyn, Jaxson and Bradyan. Also surviving is a brother, Stephen D. Hill, Topeka, Kan. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Edwin Hill III. Margaret leaves her family and grandchildren to continue their journey through life with peace of mind, knowing their lost loved one is now in God's hands.
Rev. Chuck Russell will conduct funeral services at 10 a.m. Friday, April 19 at the Cheney Witt Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow in the Battlefield Cemetery south of Pleasanton, Kan. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the Cheney Witt Chapel. Memorials are suggested to the Margaret Sullivan Memorial Fund and may be left in care of the Cheney Witt Chapel, 201 S. Main, P.O. Box 347, Ft. Scott, KS 66701.
