Eagles make 1st of two trips to Burlington this week
BURLINGTON -- Uniontown High School's track team made the first of two trips here for the week on Monday when they Eagles attended the Waverly Invitational here.
Although individual placings were not as high as they were at Thursday's meet at Oswego, head coach Jackie Hall said that many of her competitors posted better times and distances Monday.
"This is always a big, tough meet for us," Hall said. "But we get to see teams that will be in our Regional. We were pleased with our athletes' performances."
Among the teams present were Lebo, Lyndon, Marmaton Valley, Olpe, Northeast, and Pleasanton.
The best finish by Uniontown's girls was Da'Nisha Robinson's fourth-place finish in shot put. Rachel Henderson placed fifth in the 3,200 meters and Abby Dixon won two medals with a fifth in javelin and a sixth in shot put.
On the boys' side. Trenton Miller was fifth in discus and the 4x100-meter relay team was also fifth. John Reed was sixth in the 100-meter dash, Josh Wisely sixth in the 200 and Montana Beerbower sixth in the 3,200.
The Eagles will make their second trip here this week for the Southern Coffey County Invitational, which begins at 3 p.m. Thursday.
