Reba Elnora Mason, age 87, former resident of Fort Scott, and more recently of Olathe, Kan., died Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2013, at the Evergreen Community of Johnson County, in Olathe.

She was born Feb. 19, 1925, in North Kansas City, Mo., the daughter of Charles Wesley Leonard and Irene Shaw Leonard.

She married Victor LeRoy Mason on Sept. 5, 1943, in Kansas City, Mo. He preceded her in death on May 24, 1974, following a tractor accident. Reba was retired following 30 years of employment with the Western Insurance Co. She was a member of the Parkway Church of God Holiness. She loved to cook having learned from her mother during the church camp meetings. She also loved to travel.

Survivors include a son, Roger Mason, Olathe, Kan., and a daughter, Gloria Elaine Mason, Haiku, Hawaii. Also surviving is a brother, Verl Leonard, Joplin, Missouri; a grandson, Damien Mason and wife Acacia, Rohnert Park, Calif.; three great-grandchildren, Janaea Mason, Kiana Mason and Jelani Mason; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a sister Fern Poeschel and two brothers, Gerald and Merle Leonard.

Rev. Mark Stetler will conduct funeral services at 2 p.m. Monday in the Cheney Witt Chapel. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to the Presbyterian Village Activity Fund and may be sent to Cheney Witt Chapel, P.O.
