Mercy recognizes co-workers for years of service
The Mercy Hospital Administrative Team recognized more than 100 co-workers at its annual awards banquet and recognition ceremony Oct. 25.
The solo honoree for 45 year of service was Jim Brown, maintenance department co-worker.
Mercy staffers recognized with 40 years of service were Carol Claflin, environmental services co-worker; George Freeze, cardiopulmonary; and Rebecca Zimmerman, physical therapy.
Nancy Bunn, Cynthia Cooley, Vicky Hawkins, Rachel Park and Nancy Pruitt were recognized for 30 years of service with Mercy.
Twenty-five year award recipients were Alice Helton, Catherine Johnson, Rhonda Kellstadt, Dee McManis and Julie Pennock.
"In the current employment climate, Mercy is blessed to honor co-workers who have dedicated 25 years or more to fulfill their calling to serve," Executive Director of Human Resources Linda Noll said in a news release. "Seldom does any organization have the opportunity to recognize co-workers for 40, yet 45 years of service."
Recognized for 20 years of service were Nancy Bowman, Becky Davied and Erlinda Page.
Those honored for 15 years of service were: Deborah Allen, Dr. Jay Allen, Heath Busen, Shelly Callanan, Craig Campbell, Dennis Fry, Stephanie Hinton, Robert Leisure, and Patty Ryan.
Ten-year honorees were: Nerissa Antonio, Tammy Bohn, Kayla Bronson, Marianne Culbertson, Jess Ervin, Candy Gillen, Katherine Guss, David Hoskins, Karen Hutchison, Susan Jackson, Danica McNeil, Lynieta Leisure, Carrie Low, Cindy O'Rear, Jim McMinn, Paula Page, Julie Pellett, Euleta Taylor and Belinda Tucker.
Honored for five years of service were: Jeff Beckwith, Janet Burks, Jennifer Dunshee, Shelly Henderson, Dr. Wan-Lin Horng, Cetra Horton, Rosemary Larsen, Tyler McNutt, Sara Patterson, Zaneta Radenbaugh, Meredith Sewell, Cathy Shelton, Cori Spencer, Kayla Tinsley, Gina Traxler, April Winters and Lael Woods.
Mercy also recognizes "freshmen," or co-workers in their first or second year of service with Mercy.
"Freshmen" include Whitney Brooks, Jessica Brandt, Jennifer Casella, Betty Clary, ShayLynn Clements, Gene Collier, David Conradt, Devann Crystal, Kelsey DeMott, Dr. Marc Enyart, Tiffany George, Courtney Hanson, Reed Hartford, Randy Hensley, Amber Hunziker, Dr. Ross Kimball, Michael Krieger, Leslie Langford, Whendi Martin, John Michael, Cassaundra Ogran, Crystal Roberts, Satish Sharma, Emily Shadden, Craig Stokes, Karla Tersinar, Jacque Vincent, Darla Snyder, Jeff Waddell, Rich Wallace, Meghan Woodrum and Janelle Wuthrich.
"The administrative team values the talents and hard work of co-workers who are fairly new to Mercy," Noll said. "By recognizing our 'freshmen' we aim to inspire them to work with Mercy for year and years.
"At the awards banquet, the co-workers recognized represent the variety of departments working together to achieve the Mercy Mission," added Noll. "We strive to expose 'freshmen' to the opportunities within Mercy and motivate them to pursue a lifelong career with our ministry."
Dinner was provided by Mercy Nutrition Services and served by the Mercy Hospital leaders. Entertainment was provided by the "Comedy City" improvisational group of Kansas City's Westport district.
