Elsmore Ruritan hosts pancake supper
Elsmore Ruritan Club will have its annual pancake supper Saturday at the Elsmore community building from 5 to 7 p.m. Club members will serve pancakes, sausages, eggs and a drink for a free-will donation.
Tickets will be available for desserts which will be given out in drawings throughout the evening.
Monies from the dinner will go to the club's Christmas gift program. The club gives candy/fruit bags and community calendars to senior members of the community each year and candy/fruit bags to students riding the bus from Elsmore to Moran.
Also at the community building, diners can visit the Book Nook which allows people to take books home free. The Health and Fitness Center is also housed in the community building. The Elsmore club helped the city with renovations to accommodate the exercise equipment.
Elsmore Ruritan Club is a community service club with 29 members. The club supports the Allen County Fair, Marmaton Valley High School organizations, Moran, Bronson, Stark and Savonburg days and youth activities sponsored by Allen County Law Enforcement and Iola Police Department. The club sponsors Independence Day and Elsmore Day celebrations, a dog/cat vaccination clinic and last year gave out college scholarships to five area students.
