Lee Davis, dressed as notorious gangster Al Capone, is all smiles after winning the prize for best overall costume following a costume contest held Saturday morning at Skubitz Plaza. Award certificates were presented to first and second place winners in several categories. Other activities Saturday included a Halloween parade, trick or treating through the downtown area, and a free "Hallo-Weenie" lunch. Kristi Bubna holds the mic for Noah Rogers, dressed as the video game character Luigi, during a costume contest Saturday morning at Skubitz Plaza. Several kids and adults turned out dressed in a variety of costumes that included superheroes, witches, creatures, and characters from television and movies, just to name a few. The Halloween parade and costume contest were hosted by PRIDE students from Fort Scott Middle School and Fort Scott High School.
Other Saturday activities included a pumpkin carving contest, arts and crafts, and various kids' games offered at Buck Run Community Center.
Everything Pets, a local pet store, offered pet photos and a pet costume contest that included various categories.
