Lale

Dr. Seema Lale has joined Mercy Kansas Communities Inc. as a clinical pathologist serving the Mercy Laboratory.

Lale moved to the area from Pittsburgh, Pa., where she completed a pathology fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. She resides in Independence.

Lale completed her medical education at the University of Mumbai, Grant Medical College in Mumbai, India, and later completed residencies at that university and at the University of Missouri Kansas City School of Medicine. She also completed a fellowship in cytopathology at North Shore-Long Island Jewish Health System in Lake Success, New York.

She is board certified in clinical and anatomical pathology, and while based in Independence, Lale is affiliated with the physicians of Midwest Pathology Services, serving both Independence and Fort Scott.

At Mercy, her role is to support local laboratory staff and physicians in diagnosis and treatment of patient conditions by evaluating blood and tissue specimens, a news release said.

Lale is experienced in very specific, complex pathology testing that is only provided in a handful of clinical laboratory sites nationwide.

Lale and her husband, Dr. Ajit Lale, have one son, Amit, age 8.
