'Garagarama' fundraiser scheduled

The Bourbon County Arts Council will hold its 25th annual fundraiser, Garagarama and silent auction, on Sept. 22 in the 4-H Building at the Bourbon County Fairgrounds.

The council presents arts programming in area schools; participates in the annual Gordon Parks Celebration by sponsoring the creativity contest; co-sponsors the Echoes of the Trail event; and presents the annual Fine Arts Exhibit.

In addition, the group presents events such as Chautauqua and special concerts.

The organization is asking for donations of clean, usable items for the event. Items may be brought to the 4-H Building between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. Sept. 21. Pickup of large items may be made by calling (620) 223-6159 or 223-5790.

The BCAC is a nonprofit organization and donation forms are available upon request.

The organization promotes and supports the arts in Fort Scott and throughout Bourbon County.
