Garden Club prepares for Bourbon County Fair
Fort Scott Garden Club held its monthly meeting at the home of Ruby Myers.
Six members were present with one guest, Patsy French. Roll call was a plant exchange where each member was to bring the start of a flower/plant from home and exchange with another person.
The Bourbon County Fair is next month, with the Garden Club playing a significant part. Everyone is encouraged to enter a flower into a few of the numerous categories available in open class. These include junior entries, patio plants and unusual planters.
More information will be released next month for entry days and times to bring out your plant for open class.
Ribbons will be awarded for each entry including grand champion, with each placement receiving a monetary prize based on level won. Open class is a chance to show off your hard work for everyone in the family and even win a little extra cash.
Fort Scott Garden Club will be entering the products into the appropriate category with an outside judge coming in to evaluate.
Interested parties are welcome to stop by the FSGC table.
