Blood drive scheduled in Fort Scott

The American Red Cross will conduct a blood drive from 12:45 p.m.-7 p.m. Wednesday, June 13, and 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Thursday, June 14, at Community Christian Church, 1919 S. Horton St.

The blood drive has a rock-n-roll theme.

"Shake, Rattle and Roll" into a Red Cross blood drive between now and July 31 and donors will be eligible to win a Gibson guitar, courtesy of the Gibson Foundation. The Red Cross will award multiple guitars and 50,000 guitar picks, co-branded with the Gibson and Red Cross logos, during this campaign. In addition, donors will receive a rock-n-roll themed T-shirt. As a special incentive donors age 16-21 could win a $5,000 scholarship, a news release said.

Donors must be in good general health, weigh at least 110 pounds and be at least 17 years old (16 with a completed parental consent form). New height and weight restrictions apply to donors 18 and younger.
