New business opening

Stacy Brown, Trista Miller, Mary Eastwood, Courtney Clayton and Susie Carrillo have opened The Vintage Junk Truck at 202 State St., Fort Scott, where Pretty Posh Boutique used to be. The five owners posed for a photo after their ribbon cutting Thursday evening. Their business will largely be repurposing furniture. Photographer Kenny Felt will also display his images there. Each woman offers a different style of furniture. Brown will do shabby chic, Clayton and her husband, Chad, will do ironwork (they also have Rugged Roost Designs), Eastwood will "do a little bit of everything," and Susie will do "trash to treasure," Clayton said.(Ruth Campbell/Tribune)
