Livestock webinar set

Glynn Tonsor, livestock economist at Kansas State University, will tackle questions of interest to stakeholders in the beef and cattle industry during a 1:30 p.m. May 1 webinar.

The webinar will be held at the Fort Scott Livestock Market.

Topics include:

* What is the broad economic outlook for cow-calf, stocker and feedlot operators in 2012?

* What condition is beef demand in and what impact have discussions of lean finely textured beef had?

* What is the status of cattle identification in the U.S. and how does this compare globally?

Participants will be able to ask Tonsor questions.

The series is a coordinated of K-State Research and Extension, BEEF, Drovers, and Meatingplace; and sponsored by Merck Animal Health.

There is no registration fee, but participants can pre-register by calling the Southwind Extension District-Fort Scott office at (620) 223-3720 by Monday, April 30.
