Eagles pick up five medals in Waverly meet
BURLINGTON -- Uniontown's track team picked up three medals at the Waverly Invitational, held in Burlington Monday morning and afternoon.
Kelli Wilkinson won two medals as she ran the 3,200 meters in 13:49 to place fourth and the 1,600 in 6:23 to place sixth.
Trenton Miller won the boys' only medal by going 125 feet, 5 inches in discus for fifth place.
"Most of our athletes bettered their times," Eagle head coach Jackie Hall said. "But some struggled a bit. Several of these schools are going to be in our Regional, so it was good to see what they had and we know since (these) were not some of our best performances, we can do better."
The Eagles will return here Thursday for the Southern Coffey County Invitational. The first events will get underway at 3 p.m.
