Tigers conclude Basehor tourney play tonight

BASEHOR -- Tyler Adams had his second consecutive 20-point game Wednesday night as Fort Scott High's boys defeated Pembroke Hill (Mo.) 82-65 in the consolation semifinal of the Basehor-Linwood Bobcat Invitational.

One night after falling to Ottawa, the No. 3-ranked team in Class 4A, Tiger girls dropped a 45-38 decision to host Basehor-Linwood in the consolation semifinals.

Both teams will conclude tournament play today with the girls playing for seventh place at 3 p.m. and the boys playing for fifth at 7:30.

Fort Scott boys 82, Pembroke Hill 65.

Adams scored 20 points and Matt Wright added 18 as the Tigers improved to 8-3 in the season. Adams scored 13 in the second quarter as Fort Scott boosted an 8-point lead to 43-30 at halftime.

Wright scored 8 in the third. Johnathan Stark scored 7 of his 15 in the fourth. Cameron Woodring added 11 points.

Jamarillo led Pembroke Hill with 27 points while Walsworth added 20.

This is the second time the Tigers have scored more than 80 points this season, the same number of such games as they had posted in the past six seasons combined.

Basehor-Linwood girls 45, Fort Scott 38.

Jamie Johnson's 23 points -- 14 of those coming in the second half -- led the host Bobcats to the victory.

Katren Rienbolt led the Tigers (3-8) with 13 points while Brianne Lawrence added 10.
