Christmas is soon, and so is move to Marshfield
Tuesday, December 20, 2011
The Christmas season has arrived in all its glory. But it doesn't seem possible that a week from today we will be celebrating Jesus' birthday. The time seems to fly by. I have been playing my Christmas records off and on each day. They really get a person in the Christmas spirit. I even found an old Elvis Presley Christmas record. I had forgotten what a nice voice he had.
I still haven't gotten our Christmas presents wrapped. But hope to do that early this week. I did get all of our email and snail mail Christmas letters mailed. We look forward to spending a few days at Christmas time down in Madison with our family. Susie said she had enough Christmas cookies baked for everyone. I am so glad, 'cause I haven't so much as baked one batch of cookies. We do know where we will be moving in Marshfield, just don't know the exact date yet. It has two bedrooms and a porch, garage, nice big utility room and lots of closets. I think we will be quite comfortable there. In fact, there is a nice supper club across the street. So I continue to plug away at getting rid of more stuff. Rob will be bringing us home after Christmas; he will use our trailer and load it up with things that he will be taking and bring them back to Madison.
So far we have been fortunate in not having any snow to contend with. Hope it continues (dreamer that I am). At first we were going to have all of the grandsons and Rob use their trucks and our trailer to move us, but after giving it much thought, have decided to hire some movers from Marshfield. Thought it would be next to impossible to get all of them together for a weekend.
Let me tell you about the "bargain" I bought the other day. We were in Aldi's grocery store in Marshfield, and they had absolutely lovely Christmas poinsettias on sale for $3.98 each! They were huge. I had decided not to buy one this year, but after seeing those, I just couldn't turn that bargain down. It is on my dining room table. The same size was on sale at Walmart for $10.50. Now was that a bargain or what?
We wish you a very merry Christmas and a very happy New Year.
