Last night some thieves stole some valuable equipment belonging to Dr. C.W. Liggett. 915 S. Crawford St., and incidentally took his car along with it. Perhaps the thieves had only the theft of the car in mind as the fishing tackle was locked in the trunk at the rear of the car where of course they could not see it. But they didn't keep the fishing tackle, nor did they keep the car, owing perhaps to the fact that the lid on the car's gasoline tank locks on and the thieves evidently were unable lo get it off. Forced for this reason to abandon the car, they left it near the plant of the Fort Scott Hydraulic Cement Company north of town, where it was found undamaged this morning. "I worried more about the fishing tackle than I did the car," Dr. Liggett said this morning. The car is a V-8 sedan, 1936 model.
