LORETTA MAE COLLINS
Loretta Mae Collins, 89, a resident of Medicalodges of Fort Scott, Kan., died early Friday, Nov. 11, 2011, at the Mercy Health Center. She was born Dec. 4, 1921, in Kansas City, Mo., the daughter of John Duggan and Anna Rafter Duggan.
She married Merrill Leonard Collins on Aug. 8, 1942, in Hattiesburg, Miss. He preceded her in death on Jan. 18, 2001.
Loretta was retired from the claims department with Western Insurance Company. She was a member of the Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church. She enjoyed spending time with children and grandchildren, especially vacationing with family in California. Her hobbies include bingo, arts and crafts, and mealtime with friends.
Survivors include a son, Douglas M. Collins, Overland Park, Kan.; a daughter, Debbie Clarkson, Fort Scott; two grandchildren, Tommy McNeil and wife Danica, Fort Scott, and Bryna Boldra and husband Jeremy, Moran, Kan. Also surviving are six great-grandchildren, Lindsey, Cody, Kaylee and Danielle McNeil, and Landon and Keenan Boldra. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Johnny Duggan, and three sisters, Bernice Moore, Mary Margaret Holderby and Eileen Ladd.
Father Darrin May will conduct Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church. Burial will follow in U.S. National Cemetery. The Rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. Monday in the Cheney Witt Chapel followed by visitation from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.
