Four from area All-SE-KAN golf honorable mention
Four area golfers were recognized with Honorable Mention status on the All-SE-KAN Golf Team recently.
All-SE-KAN gives honors to players on southeast Kansas golf teams, all of which do not have league honors because there are not enough schools fielding teams in each one -- the Southeast Kansas, Three Rivers, Pioneer, Tri-Valley or CNC -- to have all-league teams.
The top 10 begins with sophomore Timbrelee McNair of Girard, who won all but one regular-season tournament in which she entered, with an average of 81.8 strokes per 18 holes. The top 10 are All-SE-KAN First Team players
Three Uniontown players were named Honorable Mention, which goes to players ranked 11th through 20th. Senior Veronica Harrison ranked 11th with her average of 106.8. Senior Sabrena McAnulty was 13th with an average of 107.8 and Senior Emily Simpson was 16th at 111.5.
Uniontown qualified for Monday's Class 3-2-1A State Tournament at Emporia as a team. More about that can be seen on page 11.
Fort Scott junior Karley Stark finished 15th on the All-SE-KAN list with her 18-hole average of 110.8.
