Bronson Chapter No. 65 Order of the Eastern Star met Wednesday evening, June 8, for a regular meeting with Worthy Matron Ednamarie Jackson and Worthy Patron Glenn Smith in the East with 13 officers present. The chapter opened and the worthy matron greeted and thanked all for coming. Sister Associate Matron Martha Heffernan read an appropriate Father's Day story, and the worthy matron wished them a happy Father's Day.

Under sickness and distress, brother Glenn reported on Retta Smith's knee bothering her, and she was baking cookies for Bible School.

Sister Lorna reported on Grace Smith who is now at the Guest Home Estates. Sister Linda reported on her son Levi. Many letters were read by Secretary Margaret Johnson.

Worthy patron's closing thought was "One of the finest accomplishments is making a long story short."

The meeting closed and refreshments of cake, Cool Whip, red, green and purple grapes, kiwi and coffee were served by Erma Eastwood. Brother Louis Pool made the coffee.

A pen presentation will be made June 18 to Louis Pool, Glenn Smith and Dee Eastwood for 50 years. Bill Cowan will receive an emblem for 60 years. This will be a meat covered dish meeting at 6 p.m. at the Bronson Methodist Church annex.
