JULIE MARIE FOWLER
Julie Marie Fowler, 61, of Lavaca, Ark., died at 12:45 p.m. Friday, June 10, 2011, at her home. Mrs. Fowler was born Feb. 14, 1950, at White
Earth, Minn., the daughter of Charles and Gloria Bray Newton.
Julie was a homemaker and also worked as a licensed practical nurse. She lived in Minnesota until the age of 13 when they moved to Fort Scott, Kan. She graduated from Fort Scott High School in 1968.
She received her LPN license from Nevada, Mo. She married Mike Fowler on Jan. 3, 1969, at Miami, Okla. Mike survives at the home. She lived in Kansas and Oklahoma prior to moving to Arkansas in 1988.
Survivors include her husband Mike of the home; a son, George M. Fowler of the home; her mother, Gloria Newton of Oologah, Okla.; three grandchildren, Kirk Fowler and his wife Mariah, Sydney Fowler and Kiley Fowler; three sisters, Barbara Bowen of Willard, Mo., Debbie Cagle of Fort Soctt and Cheryl Blythe of Uniontown. Julie was preceded in death by an infant son, Kirk Fowler, her father, Charles Newton, a sister, Angela Newton, and a brother, Charles Newton.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Monday, June 13, at the Bedene Funeral Home at Arma, Kan., with Father Thomas Stroot officiating.
Julie will be creamated following the services. Burial of the cremains will be at a later date at the Sheffield Cemetery near Arcadia, Kan.
The family suggests memorials to Angels Among Us.
