Friday, April 1, 2011

Between movies, books and video games, zombies have become something of a pop culture phenomenon lately. Now a student group at Pittsburg State University is bringing the eternal war between humans and the otherworld to life with an outdoor battle of the fittest.

One of PSU's newest student groups, the War Gaming and Role Playing Alliance, will hold a Zombie LARP (Live Action Role Playing) event at Lincoln Park in Pittsburg this Saturday, April 2. The LARP starts at 1 p.m. and will feature a team of zombies battling against a team of survivors using Nerf guns to see who will last.

This Saturday's event is designed for warriors who have gone through one of the recent informational sessions, but the group is open to new members, or those who just want to learn more about gaming and role playing. The group meets every Wednesday at 7 p.m. in the Student Center's Sunflower Room.

the last meeting of the year scheduled for April 27.
