To the Editor:
About the golf course the taxpayers purchased, I think we need a golf course. I am not a golfer, but I am a taxpayer and it is the tax money that bought most of it so why did we not get to vote on it? And if the swimming pool is turned down again, will City Hall just go ahead and say, well we need it and put it on us? I know we need a pool, but it should be up to the people, not City Hall. I am a senior on a fixed income and it is a burden every time the taxes go up. This city needs more than a golf course and a new pool. I have lived in Fort Scott 69 years come May. We had more of a town in the 50s than now. You could go to town and buy anything you wanted. Antique stores just don't get it and a golf course and new pool won't get it either.
