The afternoon of March 15, the Bachmann home on North Eddy Street was filled to overflowing with many friends who came to attend the last rites for Charles H. Bachmann. A number of anthems were furnished by a choir composed of Mrs. W.H. Drake, Mrs. W.C. Parkinson, Miss Eva Jones, Mr. Charles Dorey and Mr. W.H. Alsop. One bouquet included a spray of 500 carnations from the employees of the Bachmann factory and another of almost equal size was from rooms 3 and 4 of the Eddy Street school. A large number accompanied the body to Evergreen Cemetery.
A cooperative restaurant is the latest thing developed by the high school girls. They furnish the student body with good food and the funds go to the school. The program is under the leadership of the domestic science teacher, Miss Isa Green. It is a creditable lunch that is served for 10 cents.
