In the Arcadia Christian Church on Feb. 20, birthday offerings were given and the song dedicated to Delton Watt Jr., Allyson Dugan and Charles Cable. Bob Cable continued his series on The Armour of God entitled The Shield of Faith found in Ephesians. Joy Class meeting was on Presidents Day with a soup supper at 6 p.m. held in the parsonage. A business meeting followed.

Among those on the sick list are David Peterson, a former pastor who has been transferred from a Springfield hospital to his former home town of Wichita where his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Skidmore live. His Arcadia friends wish him well.

Mr and Mrs. Earl Williams, Fort Scott, who were married on May 4, 1952 in Bronaugh, Mo., by the late G.W. Corporon sent pictures to his daughter, Mary V. Shead, as the couple and pastor stood in the church after the ceremony. This pleased Mrs. Shead very much.

Arcadia folks and those in surrounding towns are pleased to learn that the Stateline Store is again open for business. They have groceries, sandwiches, gasoline and much more. All are welcome to visit and get acquainted.

Monday, Feb. 14, Taylor and Stan Parker from Texas picked up their cousin, Peg Wickstrom, in Oklahoma City for a trip to Joplin, Mo., where they visited their uncle and aunt, Nelson and Eloise Corporon.

On Monday, the guests then traveled to Kansas City where they enjoyed dinners with other close relatives.

En route back to their homes, they took lunch to Mary V. Shead in Arcadia and enjoyed time relaxing before their long journey. They reported the worst weather they encountered was the fog from Kansas City to Fort Scott.

Class 10 met on Wednesday, Feb. 16 in the afternoon in Christian Church Bungalow. There was no January meeting this year because of the funeral of church member Herman Tyler. The funeral committee served a dinner to the family. President Patty Peterson called the meeting to order with the pledge to American and Christian flags. Her devotions were read from lst Corthinians 7:8 She gave a Bible name quiz to the other three in attendance. Roll call asked for a favorite lady in the Bible. Secretary's report was read by Mary V. Shead, the treasurer's report by Betty Dehn. Carole Garrison was also present. All were pleased to learn that the Ladies Aid group paid the balance for the new sweeper that Wayne and Christie Parrish had chosen and donated to the cause. Those who have used it have declared it is the best the chuch has ever owned. For all this the class gives thanks. Thank-you cards were received from Herman's daughters, Debbie Jeck and Vickie and one from Thelma Medley family for the dinners served. A card was signed for David Peterson, 41, who suffered a stroke and recently left Springfield, Mo., hospital but now is in Wichita.

The yearly Ladies Retreat will be Saturday, March 26 with all ladies in the area invited.

The meeting closed with the Lord's Prayer and the Irish blessing. A valentine cake was served by Patty and Betty with nuts, chocolate valentines and coffee. The blessing was voiced by Mary V. Shead. The next meeting will be March 16 at 2 p.m.

Our Gang Soup Supper held on the evening of Feb. 26 in Arcadia Community Center was well attended and enjoyed by all.

Mae Watt was happy to tell her friends she received a very large, beautiful bouquet of flowers from her four sons, and in addition, friends shared four boxes of chocolates with her during Valentine week.
