Crawford County arrests pair on meth charges
Deputies with the Crawford County Sheriff's Office arrested two men on warrants for purchasing over 9 grams of pseudoephedrine.
Taken into custody at 9:36 p.m. Feb. 22 were Shawn J. Packard, 49, 1732 Olive, Pittsburg, on two warrants, both for purchasing over 9 grams of pseudoephedrine and both Class A misdemeanors. Packard posted a $6,000 bond, according to a news release issued Wednesday.
Michael V. Gallup, 47, 408 W. Martin, Pittsburg, was also arrested on two warrants of purchasing over 9 grams of pseudoephedrine and additionally for manufacture of a controlled substance, possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia in conjuction with the meth lab. He remains in the Crawford County Jail on a $56,000 bond, the release said.
Deputies went to 1732 S. Olive in an attempt to serve an arrest warrant on Packard. When they arrived at the house, they discovered a meth lab and another individual at the residence who also had an outstanding warrant for his arrest. The deputies were immediately assisted by the Pittsburg Police Department and Kansas Bureau of Investigation. The investigation continues, the release said.
